The habitual offenders of law are handled in an entirely different way by the Florida Department of corrections. These people who have been kept away from the civilized society are offered a chance to join the main stream life once again. They are taught to have a soft attitude and get adjusted to the demands of the community around them. A correction specialist at the gainesville bikes office has come up with a startling finding.  She has found out that a habitual offender would mend his way if he had a job and a good mode of personal transport. An offender who has quick mobility is more likely to find a job than many others. She is of the view that providing these offenders with bikes would solve their transport problems. For this purpose she has picked up old cycles of her friends and has repaired them personally. Then these bikes were given to the offenders who were thrilled to have a means of transport that did not require any fuel. She calls this program as biking for life program. Living in the biking community of Gainesville this lady has realized the importance of bikes and has successfully corrected many offenders.
