Responsible Biking in Gainesville

Bikes are not for those who would not ride them responsibly. The bikes are designed as pleasure vehicles that could at best be used for building up fitness. There is hardly any safety feature except for the brakes that would protect the rider. Bikes would not protect the rider in caser of an accident even it is maintained in the top condition. Benjamin Higginbotham aged 21 is a resident of gainesville bikes. He was riding on his bike with his helmet on. He was using the paved track that is meant to be used by the bikes. Nothing unusual happened and he was wearing all the protective gear. He failed to notice a stop sign at a road junction and collided head on with a Chevy truck. The truck hit the bike with such an impact that Higginbotham was thrown away. He was severely injured and the Gainesville hospital did not have the required to treat him. So he was flown to Florida University where the required medical facilities were available. He is still reported to be in a critical condition. Benjamin would be out of harm’s way today if he had been a little more careful. His failure to see the red signal has proved too costly.
